Last weekend is the last wedding shoot of year 2011! congratulation Pin Chao and Siew Choo! Siew Choo is one of my wife best friends. They are in the same team together previously, although my wife already left the team a few years back but they still keep in touch every now and then.

When i know SC is getting married this year, i know in my heart i m going to shoot some "frame" in her perfect wedding and i did! But so sad i only manage to make it for the morning tea and garden ceremony. YES! another Garden Ceremony! never attend a garden wedding before this year and i got them twice in 3 months time! :)

For this wedding, i manage to try out my new 5D and my new lens 50mm f1.4 and i have to said i m very impress with full frame performance! the sensor able to catch the lights more compare with crop sensor and more bokeh-licious!

on my previous post, i said i have a chance to try out EOS 60D. so today i decided to give Jenna Gong our model of that day a blog post about her photos only.

hope you guys like it, i hope she likes it. :)

all was done in a studio environment. first time for me to shoot in this environment. i didn't really know how to use off studio flash to shoot. so all my photos here is from natural lighting on the left, and shooting with Canon New EOS 60D! Using only kit lens Canon EF-S 18-200 mm F3.5-5.6 IS @ 200mm mostly and with Aperture Priority mode. you can check all the EXIF of the picture from my flickr pool. :)

enough talking, here is some of the pictures i took:
i need to shoot really really close 'cos there is alot people blocking my way and the backdrop is not really "nice". but all will be alot different if i know how to strobe correctly! :(
it is so easy to shoot a professional model. every frame you took is a perfect frame!
must thanks Jenna for giving us perfect pose every time we point our camera at her. Full Credit to Jenna! Kam Sia!
above pic is not done with EOS 60D creative filter, i have a different test on all the filter in other shoot. will post a review of EOS 60D tomorrow or the next day. :)
and if you guys thinking what i would say about the new EOS 60D? hmm.. in short i would say. EOS 60D is more to a female camera 'cos you can do all your editing in camera. so less time on PC which most women love it. :P

and.. for once i think 17.9MP is really worth it. they manage to keep the noise level down with higher MP

movie, if you shoot alot movie. you going to like the articulated screen. make your life a lot easier!

just manage to download all the files from my SD card and did a quick glance through of the photos i got on saturday EOS 60D preview.

this is one of the pic i took of Jenna:there is no edit to the picture. this pic is straight out from 60D, shooting in JPG only. didn't shoot in RAW 'cos don't think there is any program that can support 60D files yet. :)

will write a review about 60D when i m free, and also post more pic of it and ISO test i did on that day. :)

last weekend i travel to alot place. i go from Penang to Ipoh to Cameron Highland and back to Ipoh to Tambun for seafood before i head back to Penang. i was extremely tired but i had alot of fun.

if you planning to go Cameron Highland please go now. Around this month is the best time to go there. Nice sweet strawberry and alots of flowers (thanks Beh) and nice tea leaf.

that is why there is alot KL ppl is up there last weekend and less malay tour bus. so easy to get hotel room and places to park. if you haven't been there yet. please go now!

here is the view from EQ hotel.there is farm and all other things to see but i find this view very interesting so i post this picture first. :D

next up the BOH tea factory, now is open for visit anytime of the hour. no need to wait for the tour guide. which is good! hehe.

as promise this is the first runner up picture that i took, Ms Phunthip Praivuangkit from Thailand. It me a while to find her name 'cos the list of names that i got from the web No#9 is not her name! so i need to go google it again and finally got the real finalists name list!

i should have search for southeast asia finalists then i got the correct name list. haha. :S hmm.. i also notice that day, there is only 21 girls. it should be 22. hmm.. she must be sick kua.

miss chinese cosmo 2010 winner

remember this girl? that i post on my previous post?ya she won the miss chinese cosmo 2010!!!

she is no#21 Miss Zhang Qiao Wen. big congratulation to her for winning this competition! Malaysia Boleh! there is two Malaysian in the top 3 and she is one of it. the other person got 2nd runner up. i will post her photos the next day. :)

so here is some of the photos i got of her last week during the event in Penang.
sorry not much of her pictures with the SLR 'cos when she was doing the catwalk for the 550D SLR, there is 2 more girls with her. so if there is 3 hot girls on the stage very hard to get the nice picture, either you get a lot head shots or not nice angle of it. :(

anyway, got a few nice one during the bikini walk 'cos she is alone and i got more time to take the nice shot! hehe.

what i did last weekend

it is my first time shooting 22 lovely girls in 2 hours. what an experience and my hand and legs are still pain/tired since sunday. i think is time to train my arm to carry 3kg for 2 to 3 hours if not my next wedding job i m going to suffer again. haha.

anyway, i was invited by Joel Chu and Beh (who didn't turn up):

2010 teambuilding

after so long, finally we get our first teambuilding after so long!

this time we go back to pulau jerejak resort. the last time we was there is like 5 years ago and after 5 years the place is still the same! haha.

going to Ipoh twice a week for the same burger is it good or bad? Ipoh got a new hang out place call DeGarden the old Courts beside Jusco. A very nice place to hang out for tea or watching live world cup game and one place that sell Burger King!
now even Ipoh has it! Penang still dont have. sobz..
like what Joel said: "we are at a place where Penang don't have; Burger King!"

ok time for me to change, go watch the final WC game with Joel and going to meet Deepak for the last time before he fly off tomorrow. Deepak take care and enjoy your semi-retirement! i hope i get to see you there next year! :D

the one i took of FY when we go for second round of sushi tei paragon in singapore. love the food there and love the atmosphere. it is highly recommended place to dine. price abit on the high part but worth the price guys.

Penang Orchid Festival

FY friend invited us over to this festival on last Saturday.

The last time i shoot any flower, is the last two years ago pesta bunga. after that i didn't really have any chance to shoot any flower.

Happy New Year Guys! Welcome 2010!

a night whereby my parents is still out partying at the time i m blogging and i m here in my room getting ready to bed! damn.. it sound very wrong!!! and to make things worst, i m home alone. haha. wife back home celebrating with parents and taking care of her Zoo in FB. lol.

atleast now she know FB is just not for pic viewing and checking out people status. haha. FB game is getting better and better. i only can maintain 6 games. the rest all i started to quit. :S

so how was your New Year Celebration? me? i took some shot with the moon again 'cos it was really really big and bright. but this time abit different. i took the shot like 3 to 4 stops under! it was totally dark from the LCD. i only bring up the details in DPP. haha.

i wonder what is the lens focal length for shooting astrography? atleast for our moon. haha. this pic was heavily crop from the 135MM x 1.6 crop body!

hope you guys love it.i was shooting it from bunch of tree branch, that is how i get the dark shadows.

and one more i would like to share is this landscape shoot from a lvl 18 apartment down to bayan baru area. try out with some blue filter..

Christmas Party 2009

like always we had Christmas party in the office every year on 25th Dec due to some of us need to work night shift. But this year i didn't stay long for the party to finish. i leave the place once we started eating. =]

anyway, i didn't took much this round, not sure what happen after dinner also. but i hope they all enjoy the party and having lots of fun. 'cos i know i m hehe. will blog about my first xmas dinner with Wife someday. :P

sorry for not blogging much lately. due to really pack with work. 11 days strait is crazy. lucky PG pull out on tomorrow leave else i need to work another day. so finally after so long, i can set my OOO and can wake up late! hehe.

anyway, i do get a break in between the 11 days. i took a few hours off for doing something different this time. that is too shoot for Christmas carol yesterday.

this is the first time i m shooting, and what an experience. To make it even more special, this is the first Christmas carol i went and they all sing in MANDARIN! :S lucky i know abit of mandarin, if not it is going to be hard for me to understand what they are doing. :S

olympic bowling team

ok ok. i know the title is "abit" misleading but you will know later why i name it Olympic bowling team. haha.

anyway, this is our first team bowling event. i think we never go bowling together before as a whole group. we did on our off days but never as both team taking off and go together. i would like to thanks all our CR peers for the coverage, if not this will not happen. :) thank you!

it had been awhile since i last pick up a bowling ball. i used to play every weekend with FY, but not anymore after wedding. haha. :P so to play a game after more then 6 months never played. it is tough, my whole body pain after i got back from the game just now. lol. but the most important is we all had lots of fun! hehe.

so we all drop by BJ bowl (i think the last time i play here is like 6 years ago), we divided into 5 teams. each team with 4 people, who have the highest average team score win the game.

but not all turn up, so there is a few teams that is handicap. And the winning team is actually one of it! WOWOW!! Congraz WC, PS and LY! more jusco voucher for you :P

the condition of BJ bowl is getting bad to worst, and yet they charge RM4 per game. -.-" but this is the only bowling alley closer to Eastin Hotel so we don't have much of a choice do we? hehe.

but i still manage to hit a double, but no turkey this round. hehe. so no turkey for X'mas. haha.

Lunch at Eastin Hotel

it's been awhile since my last blog post. sorry sorry. i hope this post going to make it up with all those i miss out. hehe. hope you guys like it.

i went for our team event today, and we decided to had our team lunch at eastin hotel penang. they just open few months back so it is a new place and we hoping the food there will be nice.

but, it was a bit disappointed. the food the serve is not that great and not really worth the price. i guess it is just average hotel food you can find in any hotel in penang.

but not all is that bad. the environment is good, maybe is still new. haha. but the place is pack! i wonder is it every lunch time also that full :S. if you guys plan to go better go around 11:30. if not the place will look like any factory canteen. haha.

food wise, cakes and ice cream is nice. oh ya, their grill lamb is nice also. but their source is a bit disappointing and others is just normal.

other then that, the place is just same like any other hotels. =] so enough talking time for pictures~! enjoy~!

i took alot photo during the lunch hour, but this is my favorite. trying new technique i learn from wedshooter. using backlight and over expose by 2 to 3 stop. the result, lovely!

today is the last day of training, going back to penang tomorrow. so there won't be much posting after that. wahahah. i wonder why? maybe always no comment? :P

anyway, another day, another day shooting under the rain.when i took this pic, is actually raining. some of them use umbrella to take picture, but not me. out of hand. haha.

this was taken using monopod and on self timer. shooting at 1/8.

after took a few of this pic, i turn around and shoot this view pic.
i took something like this before last year but this year abit different. hehe i shoot during the so call "prime time". so is it better? atleast got eye of singapore. hehe. got alot of pic of that also. will post when i m back to penang. abit lazy to process the pic today.

using mouse pad to browse picture is pain in the ass. *pif pif* good night penang, i will be back tomorrow! :D

singapore: orchard road

tonight the rain is not as heavy as yesterday, but still there is some. but it didn't stop me from shooting again.

so i was thinking, should i walk.... or take train or maybe drive a car like this one..
.. i m not going to new york..
..just orchard road in singapore...
..deepak told me the deco is very nice here during christmas days, so i drop by and snap a few pictures..
.. take full advantage of the rain to create reflection, and put my 50D into test..
.. then a "police" stop me..
... oh wait, Halloween over right? i guess this guy from japan really like playing dress up.

And Since i m here at the singapore famous shopping alley, why don't i stop by and buy something for her? how about Prada, my dear?..
.. devils wear prada.. but you not a devil so cannot..

then how about LV?..
.. if only you are here then maybe you can pick which one you like.

but you are not here. so, i decided to make a wish under the Christmas tree...

anyway, this is the first time i was there on orchard road with their Christmas decoration up. the last time i was here is chinese new year, but this year is xmas. hehe. although it is a bit too early for xmas (right?), but they already put up the decoration.

a good way to attract people to come to singapore before christmas, dont you think so? i think, if you come here on xmas day. this place going to be pack with people, right? anyone come here everyyear for xmas celebration?

suntec: food republic

wanted to go new york new york, but by the time i pass by there no mood to eat. maybe i just had western yesterday that is why today no mood. haha. maybe i drop by tomorrow for dinner. =]

anyway, was out shooting in the rain again. wasn't raining as heavy as yesterday but still got a alot big rain drops keep on falling on my camera and lens. haha. this trip prove one thing.

canon 50D and Tamron lens can withstand rain also eh. lol. to make it worst i also change my lens in the middle of the rain just now. hahah.

will post up some of the picture later, but for now some food pics first. hahah. this is something i had in the food court today in suntec convention center. ( i need to pass by this place everyday :S) i didnt know there is a food court here until yesterday yin yin told me there is haha. :P

so i was there for dinner around 8pm and found this shop selling lei char rice (thunder tea rice) a.k.a the green color rice meal. lol. this one dont have much nuts compare to the one in KL, but this one better then the one i had in penang.so you mix the green color soup together and it look like this:
on my way back, i also tapou this kari puff. NICE!
the skin is hard on the top first layer, but 2nd layer onwards until the filling is superb soft. so each bite you can feel the hard skin on the top layer yet soft and fresh skins for the inner layer.
inside is chicken, potato, carrots, and sweet curry sos. very NICE!

i wonder can i tapou food back to Penang, hmm... anyway, thanks yin yin for both the recommendation! hojiak!

tony roma's suntec singapore

it was a raining day here in singapore. hmm atleast at night for the pass two days had been raining cats and dogs. so, how was the weather back there at home? raining also?

today was the first day training. alot input, alot need to remember and hope when i m back i know can implement it. very interesting training and very interesting trainer too.

he is from india and just come to singapore 2 to 3 months back. but he speak very american english during training (phew~). but something very interesting i notice about him, that is when he speak with another indian. his indian slang english is out. with the head shaking and speaking the slang. lol. but when i ask him, all that stop. lol. wonder why. :P

anyway, enough talking more food photo since i didnt get to go out shoot much tonight. only a few shoot under the rain. but this was taken in tony roma's.

very nice RIB and i mean PORK RIBS ok?this is what i order, with tony own source.
and some roti for starter.
and this is my main meal, chicken and BABY BACK RIBS~ ho ho ho~
another look of the crispy PORK skins~ sweet like honey~ with of soya and their own special source.

with their special well timed grills~ perfect! YUMMY~
i know is a big order, but i m ordering on behalf of two person. me and my wife, and since she is not here with me today... so.... i m eating on her behalf! hahaha.. tomorrow going to new york new york, nice?

sushi tei singapore

recommended by the local last year, so this year i drop by again for the 2nd round. can consider it as the best two japs food i ever tasted so far.

is located in Raffel City, the shop name is Sushi Tei. the line is very long on peak hours. so it might takes a while. but dont worry, all the waiting is all worth it!
first is their dragon prawn! and i mean DRAGON ok? the size is HUGE! one of this is enough to make up one meal laio i tell you~
next their seaweed salad with their own sushi tei sos.
yummy~! sorry dear, can't bring you this round, but i eat on behalf of you. hehe. *blup* what a good meal! well worth it. :)

it has been awhile since i last blog or my last photoshoot. i m loading myself with more and more knowledge about it but i never it at all. so today i decided to do all the experiment in one go and hope i got the result i got.

and bam~ got it in the end. haha. although it takes longer then expected but atleast i got what i wanted. hehe. thanks to my wife kesabaran and leng lui-nes if not i don't think "they" can get nice pic. hehe.

they? hehe. ya i m not shooting much also today, due to sharing. :P but the gang had been shooting alot today. hehe they are my "white" tikus for the test too:P

hope you guys dont mind. hope we can go back that play ground again soon. still got a few tricks i want to try. lol.

i have been working in backhalf (wednesday to saturday) for the pass 4 to 5 years and this year is the first time i get to work with all girls team. I THINK. :P too long to remember laio hahah.

anyway, i already move on. no longer working backhalf but i still get to see them everyweek. sienz.. :P

Pulau Redang: Scenery

it was my first time there to pulau redang. it is already in her mind long time ago and each time she plan for it in the end it will never make it.

so as our first week of our honeymoon, we decided to make a trip there to this island. it took us around 7 hours bus to go there but it was all worth the wait. the bus driver even buy us all drinks!

once you reach merang jeti, you need to take 45 minutes to 1 hour boat ride to the island. depending on which hotel you stay, if you stay in a remote hotel then your boat ride might take longer.

we stay in laguna hotel so is somewhere in between. also the most expensive and most pack hotel in the whole redang. highly recommended, but if you want to avoid the crowd then make sure you upgrade the room to seaview or what, and upgrade your buffet also. If not it is going to be super pack.

i guess enough talking, will comment about it later in the other blog. but for now, enjoy the pictures :D

hi,

this will be the new blog for my photography journey. if you see a empty blog don't worry, it is not all gone. my old blog links is just up there in the link list. :)

the reason why i start a new blog, so others don't get to hear all my crap along the way. i try to make one personal blog and one for photography. so you guys can just see what you really wanted and not one big messy blog like previous one.
